We strongly encourage you as our valued customer to use a commercial courier such as UPS, FedEx, or other local packaging center to package and ship your unit. Their expertise will guarantee you select the appropriate shipping container and packing materials to ensure safe travel and arrival of your unit to our facility. If you choose to pack a unit yourself, please follow the instructions below:
If possible, please use a new box. If your only option is to reuse a box, please make sure it is rigid and in excellent condition with no punctures, tears, rips, or corner damage, and that all flaps are intact. As all navigation systems contain delicate electronics and can be damaged in shipping, you will need to pack it well. Please remember to remove all personal CD/DVDs from your unit. Navrepair.com will not be held liable for any lost or damaged media. We recommend that you use a large box (so that there is about 3-4 inches of extra space on all sides), wrap the unit in a layer or two of bubble wrap and fill in the extra spaces with packing peanuts or other packing material.
Include your completed NavRepair Authorization Form in the box along with any pertinent documentation before sealing. For optimum sealing protection, use either pressure-sensitive plastic tape or water-activated paper tape at least 2" wide.
**FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS**NavRepair.com is not responsible for any customs duties or tariffs related to a customer shipping in a navigation system for repair. Please ensure you take care of all customs charges at the time you ship us your unit.
